Roca Line Restores Service to La Plata’s 1 y 44 After Track Renewal

Trains enter 1 y 44 at a precautionary 12 km/h to allow the renewed TolosaLa Plata track to settle.

Overview

  • Trenes Argentinos resumed the Constitución–La Plata ramal after a month-long diversion to Tolosa, restoring arrivals to the 1 y 44 station.
  • Trains traverse the renewed TolosaLa Plata section at a precautionary 12 km/h, with speeds to increase gradually after track settling.
  • The project replaced 2,060 meters of track with reinforced-concrete sleepers, new ballast and rails, and corrected alignment to boost safety.
  • The works are part of an 18.6 km renewal between City Bell and La Plata under the Emergency Ferroviaria program supervised by the Secretaría de Transporte.
  • Some Roca services remain altered, including Bosques via Quilmes limited to Berazategui until September 7, and the outage left nearby businesses reporting sales drops of about 50%.
