Roblox Moves to Let Creators Ship Games as Standalone Apps

Aimed at expanding reach, the initiative also adds a Wallet for faster creator payments.

Overview

  • Roblox unveiled the 'Roblox Everywhere' plan at its developer conference on Monday, September 14, 2026, saying creators will be able to package experiences as standalone apps with Roblox powering the backend.
  • The company has not given firm launch dates and says it will begin by piloting standalone releases with a select set of developers and external storefronts before any wider rollout.
  • Roblox Wallet, built with payment partner Airwallex, will let eligible US creators receive daily real-currency payouts starting in December and the firm plans a physical Roblox Card in 2027.
  • Players will be able to join games from a web browser (Chrome first) by the end of the year, and an offline single-player mode will enter early access then reach full availability around mid-2027.
  • Roblox is expanding creation tools — Build will move beyond New Zealand to Serbia and Singapore and gain a Scene Generator — while testing a ranking metric that favors first-time players and facing open questions about moderation, age checks and how these changes affect creator earnings.
