Overview

  • The self-serve License Manager and accompanying catalog went live July 15, 2025, to let creators secure IP licenses directly on Roblox.
  • Initial partners Netflix, Lionsgate, Sega and Kodansha have opened seven franchises for licensing, including Stranger Things, Squid Game, Twilight, Saw, Like a Dragon, Blue Lock and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
  • Roblox’s Chief Product Officer says the new tools cut licensing negotiations from months to days or hours, speeding up project launches.
  • The platform offers rights holders self-service tools to register, customize and approve content deals while giving small developer teams access to A-list properties.
  • Roblox plans to add more IPs and license types in the coming weeks as it competes with rival user-generated content hubs like Epic’s Fortnite.
