Overview
- Robinhood announced a multiyear agreement on Tuesday that will route selected retail event (yes-or-no) contracts through OG.com’s CFTC‑regulated exchange and clearinghouse while the broker takes undisclosed minority stakes in Crypto.com and OG.com.
- The rollout began on Sept. 8 with some football markets available to eligible U.S. customers and will phase in more contracts state by state depending on local restrictions and venue rules.
- Robinhood says the tie-up will expand contract choice and tighten pricing by adding OG.com to its existing venues (Kalshi, ForecastEX and Rothera) and by routing volume through OG’s infrastructure.
- Event contracts are already a material business for Robinhood: the company reported about $156 million in Q2 2026 revenue from prediction markets and a record billions of contracts traded, which helped drive this strategic expansion.
- Regulatory and legal limits remain unresolved because state officials and courts are disputing whether some sports markets fall under CFTC jurisdiction or state gambling rules, and any new products discussed between the companies, such as equity‑linked perpetuals, would need separate regulatory approval.
