Overview

  • Saving Grace unveiled its second single, 'Gospel Plough', a reinterpretation of an early 20th-century African American spiritual linked to Blind Willie Johnson.
  • The track and much of the album were recorded with a single microphone in Cotswolds barns and outdoor settings, leaving ambient bird calls audible.
  • The self-titled debut album arrives on September 26 via Nonesuch Records and features covers from Memphis Minnie to the Low Anthem.
  • The ensemble—vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley and cellist Barney Morse-Brown—formed in 2019 and co-produced the record with Plant.
  • Saving Grace will embark on its first extensive North American tour starting October 30, with an added November 23 stop in California.
