Overview
- Police say a strong-arm robbery was reported just after 8 a.m. in the 1100 block of Bonforte Boulevard in Pueblo.
- Officers located a matching suspect and vehicle near East Eighth Street and North Glendale Avenue, pursued the car, and the driver crashed in the 700 block of West 8th Street.
- After the crash the man displayed a knife and refused to drop it, officers shot him, he then began stabbing himself, and officers used tasers to disarm him.
- Multiple officers rendered aid before paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he died; investigators have not determined which injuries were fatal.
- The 10th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team is activated with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office leading the inquiry, and the acting Fremont County Coroner will identify the man later as questions remain about who fired and how many shots were fired.
