• Passage to India premieres on BBC Two at 9pm on Sunday, 14 September.

• Rinder is a criminal barrister turned presenter who broke through with ITV’s Judge Rinder and later fronted documentaries and guest-hosted Good Morning Britain.
• Called to the bar in 2001, he specialised in financial crime after pupillage at 2 Paper Buildings and tenancy at 2 Hare Court, contributing to prosecutions tied to the 2003 Letisha Shakespeare and Charlene Ellis murders and to Turks and Caicos corruption cases since 2010.
• Off screen, he was born in London in 1978, studied at the University of Manchester, entered a 2013 civil partnership in Ibiza with Seth Cumming before later separating, and remains close friends with Benedict Cumberbatch.
