Overview
- Queensferry RNLI responded around 9:18 a.m. Sunday and recovered the casualty drifting off the east of Cramond Island in 7°C water.
- The person had been in the sea for nearly 90 minutes after setting off at about 8 a.m., wearing normal clothes without a wetsuit or lifejacket.
- Rescuers wrapped the casualty in blankets, transported them to Granton Harbour, and transferred care to paramedics and coastguard teams.
- The lifeboat was cleared to return to service at 11:15 a.m. following the handover.
- In a separate incident the same day, RNLI Girvan towed a 40ft yacht to Stranraer marina after an anchor-line failure in gale-force winds.
