RNC Sues Michigan Secretary of State Over Voter Registration Rolls

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has filed a lawsuit against Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, claiming the state has not complied with the National Voter Registration Act's requirements for maintaining accurate voter rolls.
The lawsuit points out that more than 90% of Michigan's counties have inflated voter rolls, with 53 counties reportedly having more active registered voters than adult citizens over the age of 18.
Benson defends the state's efforts, stating that Michigan has removed over 700,000 voters from the rolls since she took office and plans to remove more if they do not vote in the 2024 general election.
The lawsuit follows a leadership shakeup at the RNC, with allies of former President Donald Trump taking key positions.
Critics of the lawsuit argue it is a PR campaign aimed at undermining confidence in the security of elections, with no evidence that bloated voter rolls lead to voter fraud.
