RMT Tube Strikes To Shut Underground Services 7–11 September After Talks Collapse

TfL urges a members’ vote on its pay offer as the row centers on fatigue, rosters, working time.

Overview

  • Rolling action begins with a 24-hour walkout at the Ruislip depot from 6pm on Friday 5 September, followed by daily grade-specific walkouts from Sunday.
  • Every Underground line is expected to be disrupted from 7–11 September, with no Tube service forecast on those days.
  • The DLR will be closed on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 September, while the Elizabeth line, London Overground, buses and national rail plan to run but are likely to be much busier.
  • Talks ended without resolution on 3 September and no further meetings are planned, with TfL urging the RMT to put a 3.4% pay offer to members.
  • The RMT also signalled possible strike ballots for outsourced cleaners over pay and sick pay, and Coldplay rescheduled two Wembley shows due to the expected transport disruption.
