Overview

  • RMT set out a fresh wave of industrial action after talks with London Underground management broke down over pay and other demands.
  • Targeted 24-hour walkouts are scheduled from 00:01 to 23:59 on September 7–11 for different job grades including stations, trains, fleet, engineering, signallers and service control.
  • Workers on the Docklands Light Railway will also strike from September 7 in a separate dispute over pay and conditions.
  • The union cites fatigue management, extreme shift patterns, reduced working‑week proposals and staff travel arrangements as key unresolved issues.
  • General secretary Eddie Dempsey said the union will continue engaging management to seek a revised offer and reach a negotiated settlement.
