Riyadh Air Sets Oct. 26 Debut With Staff-Only Riyadh–Heathrow Flights on Leased 787

The PIF-backed carrier is using a controlled soft launch to validate operations before opening sales to the public.

Overview

  • Daily Riyadh–London Heathrow services begin October 26 using a Boeing 787-9 named Jamila, with seats restricted to Riyadh Air and Public Investment Fund employees and families via the new Sfeer program.
  • Public ticket sales will start only after delivery and certification of the first two new 787-9s, which the airline says will arrive weeks after the initial flights.
  • The published schedule lists RX401 departing Riyadh at 03:15 and arriving in London at 07:30, with RX402 leaving London at 09:30 and reaching Riyadh at 19:15, all local times.
  • Dubai is planned to follow once new aircraft enter service, with further routes to be announced for winter 2025 and summer 2026 as Jamila transitions back to technical spare duty.
  • Sfeer launches as a digital-first loyalty program offering Founders early registrants priority booking, shareable level points and benefits, a no-points-expiry policy, and complimentary onboard Wi‑Fi.
