Overview

  • Rivian launched its second-generation quad-motor R1T and R1S pickups, each featuring four motors for a combined 1,025 horsepower and starting prices of $115,990 and $121,990 respectively, with Launch Edition deliveries set for later this month.
  • The company expanded its Electric Refresh Offer to include internal combustion engine and hybrid vehicle trade-ins, providing a $1,500 bonus for customers who take delivery of a new Rivian by July 31.
  • Second-quarter deliveries declined 22.7% year-over-year to 10,661 units after production was intentionally limited to retool its Normal, Illinois factory for 2026 models.
  • Despite the downturn, Rivian reaffirmed its 2025 delivery guidance of 40,000–46,000 vehicles and forecasted up to 26,699 units in the second half of the year.
  • Rivian is advancing its factory expansion to support its upcoming R2 SUV, which is priced around $45,000 and scheduled to debut in the first half of 2026.
