- Rivian announced that on June 9 it will send rolling email invitations to R2 reservation holders, open public demo drives at Rivian Spaces, and begin the first customer deliveries.
- The company says once a customer confirms an order the vehicle will be delivered within two to six weeks and orders will be sent in batches based on reservation time and proximity to service and demo centers.
- Rivian began volume, saleable R2 production at its Normal, Illinois plant on April 22 and has reportedly built more than 500 saleable units that are now moving to showrooms and delivery centers.
- The initial R2 offering is the Performance Launch Edition at $57,990 with Premium and Standard trims phased in later, while Rivian extended R1 incentives through June 4 to protect retail sales during the R2 ramp.
- Canada ordering and pricing for the R2 has been pushed to 2027, and Rivian is targeting 20,000 to 25,000 R2 deliveries in 2026 with the bulk expected in the second half, making a fast production and logistics scale‑up essential.
