Overview

  • The 2025.18 over-the-air update is rolling out to R1S and R1T models and introduces a revamped Energy App with separate Charging and Energy Monitor tabs.
  • Owners can now manually precondition the high-voltage battery on demand to optimize temperatures for quicker DC fast-charging sessions.
  • Charging speeds have increased across both Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles, with the Gen 2 Large Pack now capable of up to a 215 kW peak charge rate.
  • A new Trip Target feature provides navigation-based charging recommendations and notifies drivers when they reach the ideal charge level for their destination.
  • Rivian plans to add Smart Charging for timed home sessions in the coming month and intends to launch bidirectional vehicle-to-home power-sharing in 2026.
