Rivian R2 Unveiled: A Mid-Size Electric SUV Set to Launch in 2026

Rivian officially unveiled the R2, a mid-size electric SUV, on March 7, 2024, with a launch date set for the first half of 2026.
The R2 promises a range of over 300 miles, acceleration from 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds, and will be available in three motor configurations.
Designed to be more accessible, the R2 includes features like a heat pump for efficient heating, a powered rear window, and a variety of custom accessories.
Rivian's CEO RJ Scaringe announced that the R2 will use Tesla’s NACS connector, allowing access to the Supercharger network.
With a base price of $45,000, which may qualify for a $7,500 federal EV tax credit, the R2 has already received over 68,000 reservations.
