Rivian EVs Add YouTube, Google Cast, and SiriusXM in Latest Update

The software update enhances in-car entertainment options, including streaming apps and improved functionality for R1S and R1T models.

  • Rivian's new software update introduces native YouTube and SiriusXM apps, along with Google Cast functionality, to R1S and R1T vehicles.
  • YouTube and Google Cast features are included in Rivian's Connect+ subscription, which costs $14.99 per month or $149.99 annually.
  • SiriusXM requires a separate subscription directly from the service, with costs ranging from $9.99 to $24.98 per month, but Rivian is offering a free trial for all customers.
  • Google Cast allows users to stream content from over 3,000 apps to the car's screen while parked, though Netflix casting is not currently supported.
  • The update also includes improvements to Highway Assist for Gen 2 vehicles, new infotainment graphics, and other minor system fixes.
