Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe Takes Over Product Development Amid Staff Reshuffle

The move comes as the electric vehicle maker is developing its next-generation platform and plans to expand its customer base.

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe is assuming direct responsibility for all product development, following a staff reshuffle.
Outgoing Chief Product Officer Nick Kalayjian will transition to the role of Executive Vice President, Vehicle Engineering & Propulsion, and will continue to report to Scaringe.
The reshuffle comes as Rivian is developing its next-generation platform, the R2, which is expected to deliver more affordable EVs and help Rivian break into the mass market.
Rivian exceeded delivery expectations in Q3, with 15,564 EVs delivered to customers, up 24% from Q2 and more than double last year's numbers.
The company is also planning to start delivering its electric delivery vans to fleet customers beyond Amazon starting in 2024.
