- Fire and Rescue NSW reported extremely high carbon monoxide readings inside Haveli Indian Restaurant in Riverstone on Tuesday morning.
- The victim was identified by 7NEWS as Nepali student Shiva Khatri, 25, who was working as a cleaner when he was found unresponsive and could not be revived.
- Five police officers and others exposed during the response were taken to hospital in stable condition, and NSW Police later said all had been discharged.
- Hazmat teams tested air quality, evacuated residents from apartments above the restaurant, and cordoned the area before declaring the building safe.
- Safe Work NSW and FRNSW specialists are investigating the leak’s source, with the cause still undetermined.
