• The Riverside County Department of Animal Services removed 18 dogs from a Coachella property on Wednesday after the property owner said she could no longer care for them.

• Amazing Dogs Rescue in the San Diego/San Ysidro area accepted the 18 dogs and took in 12 additional dogs the same day.
• RCDAS reports a severe imbalance in recent intake and outcomes, with 1,620 dogs entering and 1,021 leaving in August and overall dog capacity reaching about 230% in September.
• To ease crowding, adoption fees are waived through the end of September, walk-ins are encouraged, and adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchips and an engraved ID tag.
