• Mexican authorities arrested Martin Perez Jr., 31, in Tepic, Nayarit, on Oct. 9 after intelligence was relayed by the U.S. Marshals Service.
• He was transferred to Riverside County custody the same day to face charges stemming from a May 14, 2024 traffic-stop pursuit in Jurupa Valley.
• Prosecutors say Perez used multiple fictitious identities while hiding in Mexico to evade arrest.
• The DA’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit worked with the U.S. Marshals’ Mexico Investigative Liaison and Nayarit state prosecutors to locate and detain him.
• Arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 13 in Riverside, and officials say the motorcycle deputy involved in the original incident was not injured.
