Overview

• Southampton Town Police say the crash occurred around 2:39 a.m. on Flanders Road near Birch Creek Road in Flanders.
• The Honda driven by Juan Camilo Alape-Penuela collided head-on with a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu, and both vehicles sustained catastrophic damage.
• Two female passengers in the Honda remain in critical condition, one ejected and taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center and the other extricated and airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.
• The Malibu driver was hospitalized with a head injury, and the roadway reopened at approximately 9:45 a.m. after several hours of investigation.
