River Plate Votes for New President Today With First Use of Electronic Single Ballot

The winner will serve through 2029 under rules that prohibit re-election.

Overview

  • Voting runs from 10:00 to 20:00 at the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires.
  • About 87,000 members are eligible, limited to active members 16 or older with three years of continuous membership and September 2025 dues paid.
  • Five tickets are on the ballot: officialist candidate Stéfano Di Carlo and opposition leaders Luis Belli, Pablo Lunati, Carlos Trillo and Daniel Kiper.
  • The Boleta Única Electrónica has voters choose a list on a touchscreen, print the marked ballot and deposit it in an urn.
  • The winning list gains majority control across club bodies with proportional minority representation, and voters must present a physical DNI with designated stadium access and two hours of free internal parking.
