Overview
- On Thursday RippleX released version 1.1 of its XRPL AI Starter Kit that adds support for the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) and the Open Wallet Standard (OWS).
- MPP integration lets AI agents pay services by returning a machine-readable price and authorizing settlement through XRPL without a human checkout page.
- OWS support lets agents request signed payments from an encrypted wallet vault so private keys are not exposed while spending rules and limits remain enforced.
- The release is beta and session-based repeated payments work today only with XRP via XRPL Payment Channels; RLUSD session support is planned but depends on the proposed XLS-93d ledger amendment.
- The standards are open and cross-chain so XRPL is now one possible rail among others; key signals to watch are named commercial integrations, MPP-specific volume and the activation date for XLS-93d.
