Ripple and Immunefi Launch $200,000 Attackathon to Stress-Test XRPL Lending Protocol

The pre-launch program is intended to harden XRPL’s lending design, building confidence ahead of a validator vote planned before year-end.

Overview

  • The initiative opened its training phase on Oct. 13, with active bug hunting scheduled for Oct. 27 to Nov. 29 and a $200,000 rewards pool for discovered vulnerabilities.
  • Immunefi will mobilize its global community of security researchers to probe the protocol before launch, focusing on high-risk areas common to DeFi lending.
  • RippleX’s Jasmine Cooper said the goal is a thoroughly tested, resilient system that developers and institutions can build on with confidence.
  • Immunefi’s Mitchell Amador framed the effort as strengthening XRPL’s infrastructure by tapping top security talent across Web3.
  • The XRPL Lending Protocol is central to Ripple’s DeFi roadmap and, per CoinCentral, is slated to introduce native pooled lending and underwritten credit pending a validator vote.
