Riot Games Expands Conduct Policy to Penalize Off-Platform Misbehavior

Starting January 2025, Riot Games will enforce penalties for creators whose off-platform behavior violates its terms, aiming to improve player and fan experiences.

Riot Games has updated its terms of service to include penalties for creators engaging in harmful behavior outside of its games, effective January 3, 2025.
The policy applies to content tied to Riot games, such as streams or videos, where misconduct like hate speech, harassment, or cheating may occur.
Riot clarified it will not actively monitor social media but can act if violations are brought to its attention, including restricting accounts or suspending Partner Program privileges.
New measures also address issues like stream sniping and promoting account sales, with penalties designed to uphold competitive integrity.
Severe violations, such as consistent hateful rhetoric, may result in Riot-wide bans, restricting access to all Riot accounts.
