Organizers pitch the installation as a holiday anchor to boost tourism.

  • The budget is reported at R$25 million with financing via Brazil’s Lei Rouanet cultural incentive mechanism.
  • The structure is being assembled at the Mauá shipyard and will be towed to a position roughly 100 meters from the beach, engineered to withstand 160 km/h winds and weighing the equivalent of 1,800 small cars.
  • The display is scheduled to run through January 6, 2026, with daily lighting from 7 p.m. to midnight and a marked 200-meter safety perimeter on the water.
  • Opening festivities on November 30 feature Samba em Família with Pretinho da Serrinha, a fireworks show from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., a food-truck village, the Ballet das Águas, and recurring light shows every 30 minutes.
