• The Festival Gastronomia Preta takes over CCBB’s outdoor area with a Black food fair and shows by Arlindinho (Fri 9:30 p.m.), Olodum (Sat 7:30 p.m.) and Teresa Cristina (Sun 7 p.m.).
• Cordão da Bola Preta opens its 107th carnival season on Saturday with the Feijoada do Bola in Lapa, featuring the bloco’s band, a samba‑enredo tribute group and a DJ.
• Museu do Pontal marks four years at its Barra home with the free festival “Festas, sambas e outros carnavais,” launching three exhibitions that renew about 70% of the galleries, plus shows by Mart’nália, Unidos de Vila Isabel and Tambores de Olokun.
• Caixa Cultural unveils “Frans Krajcberg – A Semantics of Devastation” on Tuesday, presenting 39 works with standout sculptures fashioned from burned trunks, roots and vines gathered from devastated areas.
