- Rio’s education department opened online enrollment at 8 a.m. on Jan. 14 for new students in early childhood education, elementary school and EJA, with applications accepted through Jan. 16 at matricula.rio.
- A CPF is mandatory for Rio enrollments, and guardians without one can request it at Correios, Banco do Brasil or Caixa Econômica Federal branches.
- Families in Rio without connectivity may enroll at municipal schools or at Naves do Conhecimento, with additional information available via the city’s 1746 service.
- Rio scheduled further January rounds: special education registrations on Jan. 22–23 and transfers plus new enrollments on Jan. 29–30.
- Volta Redonda opened free online requests for municipal school vacancies through March 31, requiring a birth certificate or RG, with eligibility set for early childhood applicants up to age five born by Dec. 31, 2025, and elementary applicants age six or older.
