Ringbrothers Debuts ‘Kingpin,’ a Reimagined 1969 Mustang Mach 1 at SEMA

The Wisconsin shop’s latest halo build reimagines the Mach 1 through a full chassis conversion with meticulous fabrication.

Overview

  • The original unibody was integrated with a Roadster Shop ladder chassis featuring a 1.5-inch wheelbase stretch and bodywork widened by 2 inches up front and 3.5 inches at the rear.
  • A Wegner Motorsports 5.0-liter Coyote V8 topped by a Whipple supercharger targets roughly 800 hp and drives through a Bowler six-speed manual.
  • Independent suspension with Fox coilovers, Brembo brakes, HRE Vintage 517 wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires—including 345-section rears—modernize handling and grip.
  • The exterior wears BASF’s Bootleg Black with Grab‑Her Green accents and extensive one-off carbon pieces such as the tail panel, rear diffuser, hood and grille surround.
  • Ringbrothers reports more than 5,500 build hours; no price was disclosed, though journalists estimate the project likely cost north of $600,000.
