Riley Keough Refuses to Pay $1.6M Debt on Late Mother's UK Home

Keough argues Barclays Bank missed the claim deadline and that Presley only guaranteed interest payments, not the principal.

Riley Keough, the sole trustee of her late mother Lisa Marie Presley's estate, is refusing to pay a $1.6 million debt on Presley's UK home, Coes Hall.
Keough argues that Barclays Bank, the lender, missed the deadline to file a claim for the debt, which was the one-year anniversary of Presley's death on January 12, 2024.
She also claims that Presley only guaranteed interest payments on the loan between 2010 and 2015, and thus the trust should not be responsible for the outstanding principal.
Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley, bought Coes Hall in 2010 and sold it in 2021. She died in January 2023 at the age of 54.
A ruling on the case has yet to be decided.
