Rihanna Stars as Smurfette in New 'Smurfs' Movie Trailer

Rihanna voices Smurfette in the upcoming animated reboot of 'Smurfs,' introducing the trailer and performing a cover of Belinda Carlisle's 'Heaven Is a Place on Earth.'
The film follows Smurfette and her friends as they venture into the human world to rescue the abducted Papa Smurf, voiced by John Goodman.
Rihanna also serves as a producer on the movie and has written new original songs for the film's soundtrack, with more details to be revealed closer to release.
The star-studded voice cast includes Nick Offerman, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Kurt Russell, and James Corden, among others.
Directed by Chris Miller, the movie blends 2D and 3D animation inspired by Peyo’s original comics and is set to premiere in theaters on July 18.
