Overview
- Police received a PCR call around 9:49 pm on January 17 about a man lying injured near the SKV No.1 School boundary wall in Gandhi Nagar.
- Officers found the victim, Danua alias Lalbati, 36, with severe head injuries; he was taken to GTB Hospital and declared dead.
- Dhaba owner Khushi Ram told investigators the victim and another rickshaw puller, Bunti, had been drinking at his roadside eatery before an argument erupted.
- Bunti, 26, a resident of Aligarh and a rickshaw puller, was arrested, and a wooden stick or log alleged to be the weapon was recovered from the spot.
- A murder case was registered at Geeta Colony police station, the crime team examined the scene, and further investigation is underway.
