Rick Klein Appointed ABC News Washington Bureau Chief

Veteran journalist Rick Klein steps into a pivotal leadership role ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

Rick Klein, ABC News' political director since 2013, has been promoted to vice president and Washington bureau chief.
He will oversee all political coverage, including the Sunday program 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos.'
Klein has been with ABC News since 2007 and has a history of guiding major political event coverage.
He succeeds Jonathan Greenberger, who departed in April for a new role at Politico.
Klein will report to Debra OConnell until a new ABC News president is appointed.
