The couple, who have two adult daughters, Izzy, 24, and Willow, 22, emphasized that they will remain a family but with a 'different structure.'
Hammond credited Mindy as a key source of support during his recovery from a near-fatal 2006 crash while filming Top Gear, which left him in a coma with serious head injuries.
The Hammonds requested privacy for themselves and their children, stating they would not make further comments on the matter.
