Richa Chadha's Musafiri to Premiere on Phull Stop YouTube

The project marks Chadha's move into creator-led non-fiction and a shift to direct-to-audience distribution.

Overview

  • The trailer, which was unveiled Friday, Sept. 18, confirmed the eight-episode series will begin streaming on Phull Stop on Sept. 25 with new episodes released every Friday.
  • Chadha is the series' host, writer, narrator and producer, marking her first non-fiction project and her YouTube debut.
  • Season one is set entirely in Mumbai and will spotlight lesser-known histories, overlooked spaces and the people who live and work there.
  • Musafiri is produced by Pushing Buttons Studios, the production company founded by Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, and is the banner's second project after Girls Will Be Girls.
  • Chadha says motherhood and her background in history drove the series' curiosity-driven approach, and the use of a creator-owned channel lets the team release episodes weekly and engage directly with viewers.
