Dauer overcame significant health challenges, including emergency brain surgery following a subdural hematoma in 2017 and a stroke in 2022, before his passing.
He was inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame in 2012 and the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2021, recognized for his achievements as a player and coach.
