RIAT 2025 Preparations Complete at RAF Fairford Ahead of Opening Under Thunderstorm Warning

Overview

  • A restricted airspace under Article 239 is in force around RAF Fairford, making drone operations a criminal offence within its perimeter.
  • Gloucestershire Police will conduct security checks, patrols and dog units from July 18–20 and have urged attendees to plan journeys and report any suspicious activity.
  • Colour-coded ‘red’, ‘blue’, ‘brown’ and ‘green’ routes are guiding vehicle access, with park-and-ride shuttles recommended and taxi services restricted to ease traffic.
  • Friday and Saturday general admission tickets have sold out, leaving limited Sunday passes and grandstand seats, while six-day FRiAT packages remain on sale.
  • Headline arrivals such as the Red Arrows, USAF C-5 Galaxy and Pakistan AF JF-17C have landed at RAF Fairford, with the Red Arrows set to perform during Friday to Sunday flight displays.
