The 'WSP 2', the newest addition to Rheinland-Pfalz's police boat fleet, features advanced technology, including a thermal imaging camera, searchlight, autopilot, and a gangway heating system.
The vessel, with 1,100 horsepower and a top speed of over 50 km/h, will patrol a 55-kilometer stretch of the Rhine near Ludwigshafen, a key European waterway.
This marks the 16th heavy police boat in the fleet, with plans to add more boats by 2027, supported by a €5 million modernization budget.
