RFK Revives No. 99 for Daytona 500 With Corey LaJoie in One-Off Fourth Entry

The open entry is meant to strengthen Ford’s drafting fleet at Daytona, reflecting RFK’s numbers-based superspeedway approach.

Overview

  • Trimble will be the primary sponsor of LaJoie’s No. 99 at Daytona and will appear on RFK cars in 11 races this season.
  • As an un-chartered car, the No. 99 must qualify for the Feb. 15 race through Feb. 11 time trials or the Feb. 12 Duels.
  • Brad Keselowski said adding a fourth car enhances drafting cooperation and lane control to improve RFK’s chances to win.
  • The No. 99 returns to RFK’s lineup as a legacy number that produced 40 Cup Series victories from 1996 to 2014 with Jeff Burton and Carl Edwards.
  • LaJoie is also set to substitute for Keselowski in the Feb. 1 Cook Out Clash during the co-owner’s recovery from a broken leg, and he owns a best Daytona 500 finish of fourth in 2024.
