Overview

• Revolut will integrate EPI’s Wero mobile wallet into its app for customers in Germany, Belgium and France starting July 2025.
• Wero, launched in July 2024, offers real-time account-to-account transfers via mobile number or email and has attracted over 40 million registered users.
• Worldline plans to roll out Wero payments for e-commerce sites in Germany in summer 2025 with Belgian and French launches to follow.
• The European Payments Initiative convened 14 banks and two payment providers to create a payment system that reduces Europe’s reliance on US platforms like PayPal, Visa and Mastercard.
• Further expansion is slated for the Netherlands and Luxembourg in 2026, including integration of the Netherlands’ national iDEAL method.
