Retzlaff Powers Tulane Past Northwestern in 23-3 Debut

The BYU transfer capped a whirlwind summer by totaling 265 yards and two scores for Tulane.

Overview

  • Tulane won 23-3 in New Orleans, turning three first-half interceptions into 17 points to build a 20-3 lead.
  • Jake Retzlaff threw a touchdown to Justyn Reid and sprinted for a 69-yard score, finishing with 152 passing yards and 113 rushing despite six drops by receivers.
  • Northwestern quarterback Preston Stone threw four interceptions, including on his first pass, and lost a late fumble as the Wildcats ran for 76 yards and allowed three sacks.
