Retired IPS Officer and Mahavir Mandir Trust Founder Acharya Kishore Kunal Passes Away at 74

Kunal, known for his contributions to social and religious causes in Bihar, died of cardiac arrest in Patna on Sunday morning.

Acharya Kishore Kunal, a 1972 batch IPS officer, served as the chief of the Bihar State Board of Religious Trust (BSBRT) and the founder secretary of the Mahavir Mandir Trust.
He passed away at the age of 74 after suffering a cardiac arrest early Sunday morning and was pronounced dead at a Patna hospital.
Kunal was instrumental in giving Mahavir Mandir a national identity and was deeply involved in initiatives for the upliftment of weaker sections of society.
Prominent leaders, including Bihar Governor Rajendra V Arlekar and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, expressed condolences, highlighting his contributions to administrative, social, and religious fields.
His cremation is scheduled to take place on Monday in his native village in Hajipur, Vaishali district, with many dignitaries and locals paying their respects.
