  • Federal Police state the plan was drafted in November 2022 and discussed at General Walter Braga Netto’s residence before three copies were printed at the Planalto Palace.
  • In February, the Prosecutor General’s Office charged 34 people, including former president Jair Bolsonaro, in the coup plot and expects oral hearings to begin between September and October 2025.
  • Justice Alexandre de Moraes admonished Bolsonaro for breaching his precautionary measures before concluding that isolated lapses did not merit stronger penalties.
