• In a late-2024 CUNY4Palestine webinar, Hadeeqa Malik described political activism as “all jihad” and urged participants to risk doxing, suspension and arrest against “settler colonialism.”
• A February 2025 video from a pro-Palestine protest shows Malik confronting NYPD officers, calling them “pigs” and reading aloud the badge of a Muslim officer.
• Malik interned in Mamdani’s New York State Assembly office in summer 2024 and served as president of the City College of New York’s Students for Justice in Palestine from June 2024 to June 2025.
• She also holds positions as an outreach coordinator for the Council on American–Islamic Relations and a Racial Justice Fellow at the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership.
• Critics have cited the resurfaced footage as evidence of extremist messaging in campus activism and questioned Mamdani’s oversight of his campaign team.
