Rescue Team Saves Dogs Stranded in Massive California Park Fire

Emergency responder Trevor Skaggs ran 1.5 miles through fire-ravaged terrain to rescue a Rottweiler and her puppies.

  • The Park Fire has burned over 360,000 acres and forced thousands to evacuate.
  • A resident's truck broke down during the evacuation, leaving two adult dogs and four puppies behind.
  • Trevor Skaggs was flown in by helicopter and ran through the fire zone to reach the stranded animals.
  • The mother and her puppies were found alive but exhausted and dehydrated; the father dog did not survive.
  • The rescued dogs are now in the care of the North Valley Animal Disaster Group.
