Rescue Efforts Resume at Collapsed Gwangmyeong Subway Site After Weather Delay

The collapse at the Sinansan Line construction site in Gwangmyeong on Friday caused a road cave-in and damaged nearby buildings.
Out of five workers initially unreachable, three were found safe, and one was rescued 13 hours after the collapse; one worker remains missing.
The missing worker, a man in his 50s, is believed to be trapped 35 to 40 meters underground, but his exact location is still unknown.
Rescue operations were temporarily halted on Saturday due to worsening weather but resumed on Sunday with safety precautions in place.
Investigations are underway into the collapse, which occurred after cracks in support pillars were detected and the site was evacuated earlier on Friday.
