Republicans Push for Release of Unverified Whistleblower Report Alleging Biden Crime Despite Warnings from Officials

The FBI and DOJ refused to release an unverified whistleblower report alleging criminal wrongdoing by Joe Biden citing the need to protect confidential sources and ongoing investigations.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer subpoenaed the FBI for the report and threatened contempt proceedings against FBI Director Christopher Wray for not complying.
Sen. Chuck Grassley insisted the report be made public though its accuracy is unknown and irrelevant to Republicans.
The White House accused Republicans of political stunts to attack President Biden without evidence.
The FBI agreed to show the report to Comer and the committee’s top Democrat, Rep. Jamie Raskin, privately in a secure room though it’s unclear if that resolves Comer’s demand for public release.
