- The Sept. 19–21 Reuters/Ipsos survey of 1,019 U.S. adults (±3 points) found the GOP favored in seven of 11 policy areas.
- Republicans posted their widest advantages on crime and immigration, with 40% picking the GOP on each versus 20% and 22% for Democrats, respectively.
- The GOP led on the economy 34%–24% and on handling foreign conflicts 35%–23%, and also held edges on gun control and corruption.
- Democrats retained advantages on the environment, women’s rights and healthcare, and held a narrow lead on respect for democracy.
- President Trump’s job approval registered at about 41% in the same poll.
