Republicans Criticize James Comer's Handling of Biden Impeachment Investigation

Lack of Evidence and Mismanagement Lead to Frustration Within GOP

House Republicans are reportedly frustrated with House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer's (R-KY) impeachment investigation against President Joe Biden, with more than a dozen anonymous Republicans dismissing Comer's efforts as a 'clueless investigation'.
Comer's investigation has been focused on Biden's son, Hunter, and his foreign business dealings, but after more than a year of subpoenas and testimonies, Comer has not produced any evidence that would directly implicate the president in any 'high crimes and misdemeanors' that would necessitate impeachment.
Comer was further embarrassed when Hunter Biden's attorney pointed out that the original subpoena of his client was 'legally invalid'. Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance at a recent committee meeting where members were set to vote to hold him in contempt, effectively nullifying the committee's argument that he was avoiding them.
An ally of former President Donald Trump told the Messenger that Comer had 'cast a wide net and caught very little fish,' indicating that it was becoming a significant issue for the GOP.
Republicans fear that Comer's mismanagement of the inquiry has ruined the GOP party's opportunity to score a much-ballyhooed election-year victory of impeaching the president.
